New Scrap

Getting Started

Welcome to Scrapages!

I've already told you that Scrapages is like a digital notebook so now it's time to show you how it can make taking notes, and organizing your information really easy!

First lets talk about the differences between Scraps, Emails, and Events.

Scraps are like digital scrap paper, they can be anything. Some random mumblings, a quote from a webpage, a list of todos, a collections of pictures or videos, the list just goes on and on.

What's really cool about Scraps is that they can morph into other things as well. Right now they can change into Emails or Events, which means that by clicking the Email button while you're making a new scrap you get the option of inputing a Subject and an email address to send the scrap you're making to a friend. An Event is a scrap that has a time and place associated with it. So if you have an appointment coming up just make it an event and Scrapages will list it in the Upcoming Events section so you won't forget.

Events and Emails are only the beginning of the different scrap types, there will be more to come. So if you think of something that you think should have it's own type let us know and we'll see what we can do.

The rest of this Scrap will show you some of the basic Scrapages syntax and what it does for you.

If you want to make a headline you can put a row of = or - underneath it like this. So this

Big Headline
========

Creates this:

Big Headline

and this

Medium Headline
---------

Creates this:

Medium Headline

If you want to make a link you put the name of it in [ ] and the address in ( ) like this

[google](http://www.google.com)

Which will get you a link like this.

google

You can link to picture the same way, just put an ! in front of the name.

Making lists of things is easy too. If you want a numbered list just type a number and a . like so.

 1. Number 1
 34. Number 2
 6. Number 3

It doesn't matter what the number is the list will come out ordered:

  1. Number 1
  2. Number 2
  3. Number 3

If you just want dots you can do this

 * just put an astriek for dotted lists
 * and you can even make them nest
 > by using the greater than sign

  • just put an astriek for dotted lists
  • and you can even make them nest

by using the greater than sign

or you can just have an indented paragraph by using double > like this.

 >> This is an an indented paragraph that we are testing the ability of the
 >> grater than sign for indenting mulitple cheeses and making them into
 >> dorotios. I like chips and dorotios taste real good.

This is an an indented paragraph that we are testing the ability of the grater than sign for indenting mulitple cheeses and making them into dorotios. I like chips and dorotios taste real good.

Note: You don't have to put double > before each line if you don't want to, but I had to for display purposes.

That is just a start of the Scrapages Syntax. If you're interested in more click on the Example Syntax link above the New Scrap Form. If you have any other questions send us an email at help@scrapages.com
